Let's hear it for the Performing Arts
After dinner we were off to the Opera. Well it was more like opera with a musical theater flair. I enjoyed Deborah Voight and felt inspired to see an opera this year. We had awesome seats. He's a big shout-out and mucho thanks to Keith for the invite and seats!!!!
Speaking of operas saw the commercial for Baz Lurhmann's Proudction of Puccini's Opera La Boheme this morning. It's very nice. Surprise, surprise the commercial has a Moulin Rouge feel however, it works. I won't say too much as not to spoil it for those who haven't seen it yet.
Last night before collections, I went to The Making of Series featuring John Cameron Mitchell at Musical Theatre Works. For what ever reason, I've become re-obsessed with Hedwig I think it was the DVD purchase that inspired it? He spoke for about the evolution of Hedwig from concept, to creation and how it evolved to the final performance piece that was presented on stage at the Jane Street theater. He also mentioned that when the show is performed that the actor should improvise as needed. Where Arthur Miller is very specific about how his plays are performed, John is on the other end of the spectrum.
I concluded my Tuesday evening by collecting at The Graduate it was nice to return to the Plymouth. I felt at home again.
